High: 27°C / 81°F | Low: 15°C / 58.5°F Rainfall: 34mm / 1.35in June marks the transition from the quieter months into the Serengeti’s peak season. From July through September, much of the migration activity concentrates in the northern Serengeti, where wildebeest herds undertake the dramatic Mara River crossings. Meanwhile, the Central Serengeti remains exceptional for resident wildlife viewing throughout the dry season. As vegetation thins and animals gather around permanent water sources, sightings become more frequent and rewarding. Located in the heart of this wildlife-rich area, Out in Africa Tented Camp offers prime access to year-round game viewing, particularly its strong populations of big cats including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The dry months provide excellent visibility, fewer scattered water sources, and consistently outstanding safari experiences right in the Central Serengeti.

High: 28.5°C / 81.5°F | Low: 16°C / 61°F Rainfall: 92.5mm / 3.6in Although short afternoon showers may occur in November and December, this period is a wonderful time to visit the Serengeti. With fewer tourists and more favorable rates, the experience feels more exclusive while still offering excellent wildlife encounters. In the Central Serengeti, game viewing remains outstanding year-round thanks to the strong resident populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and giraffes. The green season also welcomes a variety of migratory bird species, adding vibrant color and diversity to the landscape. During this time, the herds of the Great Migration briefly pass through the Central Serengeti on their journey south, filling the plains for a short but impressive window of movement and activity. Perfectly positioned in this wildlife-rich region, Out in Africa Tented Camp offers front-row access to both resident wildlife and seasonal migration activity, ensuring a rewarding safari experience even outside the peak months.

High: 28°C / 82°F | Low: 16°C / 61°F Rainfall: 118.75mm / 4.7in February’s relatively drier conditions, combined with lush green landscapes, create superb photographic opportunities in the Serengeti. The light is soft, the scenery vibrant, and there is minimal dust — perfect for capturing dramatic wildlife moments. From March onwards, the long rains begin, transforming the plains into a rich, emerald landscape. While the famous wildebeest calving season takes place further south, guests staying in the Central Serengeti can still enjoy extended game drives toward the southern plains to witness this remarkable period of new life and heightened predator activity. Although some roads may become challenging when muddy, this season offers significantly fewer tourists, reduced rates, and a true sense of wilderness adventure. Located in the heart of the Central Serengeti, Out in Africa Tented Camp provides excellent access to year-round resident wildlife, while allowing flexibility to explore surrounding areas during this dynamic and rewarding time of year.
